Yes that is $800,000 U.S. and you won’t believe the view, the setting and the amenities.  With 7,000 square feet of living area, ocean views, golf course, Bali design and a large tranquil pool this Knysna luxury property can and should be yours.   But before you get too excited it also appears to be listed for $30 Million South African Rands which equates to a bit over $3 Million U.S. dollars, so it’s either a the steal of the century or……

…..not.  My request for a clarification on the issue has yet to be met.

This home is located in the “Garden Route” which is a  secret place where unmatched luxury exists in one of the worlds most spectacular settings.   

 I made a reference in my post about Jade Mountain in St. Lucia, regarding architecture that exists in harmony with it’s surroundings and in my opinion this exquisite home is not an example of that.  The setting (pictured to the right) is a dramatic and beautiful landscape carved from the earth by mother nature.  While this luxury home enjoys panoramic views overlooking the mountains, Knysna Lagoon, Dramatic Knysna Heads and the Ocean it sits upon the hill top in stark contrast to it’s surroundings.  This is unfortunate because the interior of the home is spectacular.  Visit the Offshore Properties South Africa website for more photo’s and additional world class luxury homes.

How would you like to wake up to this?  While the Jade Mountain resort in St. Lucia is not for those who have to ask “how much per night?” it is for those among us that appreciate architecture that exists in harmony with it’s setting.

Architect owner Nick Troubetzkoy has designed the resort to exist in harmony with it’s natural surroundings with rooms being open to the spectacular views.  And so you won’t be disturbed while communing with nature the place is “techno free”, i.e. no phones, televisions or radios in the rooms.
